The Biggest E3 ٢٠٢١ Announcements So Far

E3 ٢٠٢١ is in full swing, and it's already chock-full of huge announcements that we're stoked to learn more about.

If you're a hardcore gamer, summer is one of the most exciting times of the year. E3 is always in full swing every June, and even though last year's was a bit of a bust with the coronavirus pandemic, E3 ٢٠٢١ is bursting with new game announcements and exciting developments.

There have been a smattering of awesome announcements, so many it'll make your head spin. That's why we've put together a select few -- the biggest -- so you have something to get excited for.

Check out the top five biggest announcements of E3 ٢٠٢١ so far, and get ready for a whole lot more excitement, because this year's festivities are far from over.

Elden Ring

After what felt like an eternity, fans were finally treated to a proper trailer for Elden Ring, a partnership between From Software's Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin during Summer Game Fest ٢٠٢١. The reveal came by way of a lengthy gameplay preview, which showed off some of the punishing enemies and stages would square off against in the upcoming fantasy RPG. Much to players' surprise, it also got a release date: ٢١. يناير, ٢٠٢٢. It's now poised to debut across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation ٤, PlayStation ٥, and PC when it descends upon Soulslike fans across the globe. If it's as challenging as the other games in the Souls family, it's definitely going to be a title to watch.

Starfield

The Microsoft and Bethesda showcase was a lengthy one this year, and that meant plenty of surprises for those looking for updates on what both companies have up their sleeves. Fans got their first taste of Bethesda's newest IP Starfield during the presentation as well as an official release date. This new adventure is set in space and lets players create their own characters while setting on a journey to "answer humanity's greatest mystery." We won't have a chance to check out Bethesda's newest IP in ٢٥ years until next year, but ١١. نوفمبر, ٢٠٢٢ seems a little closer all the time.

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

Square Enix's presentation revealed an exciting new addition to its cadre of games releasing in the next year: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. This single-player adventure puts you in Star-Lord's shoes as you travel throughout space with the rest of your crew: Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. Based on an original story, you'll guide Star-Lord throughout a hilarious ride through a variety of worlds, all annotated with a mixtape rife with '80s tunes. From the lengthy gameplay reveal we got during Square Enix's show, we already know we're going to want to spend as much time as humanly possible with the game. We won't have to wait long, either, as it's out this October.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

The Avatar series is massively popular, and James Cameron has only managed to release one movie. Until the next entry, we'll have something to tide ourselves over with the newly-announced Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. This first-person action-adventure will feature the wide world of Pandora, as you take on the role of a Na'vi and travel across the world's Western Frontier.

You'll have to keep your wits about you as you work to fight off the RDA forces that want to take over this hidden side of Pandora. It looks like an exciting, magical take on the established world that the movie set up, and it'll be releasing in ٢٠٢٢. Hopefully by then we'll know more about when the next film is coming too, but getting to see what it's like to actually be a Na'vi is going to be amazing.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin

Square Enix had a slate full of bangers during its E3 ٢٠٢١ presentation, and perhaps one of the most exciting was Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. This is Final Fantasy like you've never seen it: an action RPG that follows new characters Jed, Jack, and Ash -- supposedly the Warriors of Light foretold by the storied prophecies -- as they work to defeat Chaos at the Chaos Shrine. It appears the evil Garland has transformed into Chaos itself, so they'll have their work cut out for him.

The game will let you swap between two different jobs as you fight with their own unique weapons and attacks, different types of abilities, and even changes of appearance as party members switch their jobs. More akin to a Devil May Cry game than a Final Fantasy, this is one entry in the saga that looks positively intriguing. The game isn't due out until ٢٠٢٢, but the demo is available right now for PlayStation ٥ owners.
